2. But I've never joined a choir before!
All we need is your talent and passion for singing, and a commitment to the choir! The other members and the sectional leaders will be glad to help you along. We'll also send out midi files so you can practice on your own.
We have 2 practices each week. Every Monday and Thursday, 7pm to 10pm
2. Why do we need to practice twice a week?
We start with 2 practices a week so we would have finished learning our songs by the month before concert, and we won't have to cram extra last-minute practices nearer to the concert.
3. Whoa.. so now 2 practices each week? When can I study? I can't keep up my straight A results...!
There will be an exam break starting 3 weeks before exams so there is time to study and get your A's.
And with more organized practices there will be NO everyday, stressful, cramped, sing-until-no-voice practices nearing concert. This way you can study more effectively.
4. What if my lessons clash with choir practices?
If the subject that clashes with choir practice is a core module and everyone has to take it... you may be excused. But do come for practice as soon as you can. If not, please try to change the slot for the General Elective or module that you have to take, especially since its still the add/drop period. So if you want to join choir please do choose a GE that doesn't clash with choir practice.
5. Choir sounds so busy/stressful...
Don't worry! Not only will we not have fully packed concert practices, there will also be more fun and excitement -outings! and other stress-relieving activities! All these activities will also be a chance to know your choir friends better!
